Aarti is a film director having director several films, documentaries, web series and a script writer. The film ‘Khamakha’ starring Harshvardhan Rane and Manjari Fadnnis won a Filmfare award and ‘Udne Do’ starring Revathy went on to win the Grand Prix at the largest children film festival in Japan and also won awards by the Ministry of Culture Turkey as well as seven other international film festival awards.
Another short film ‘Free Fair Fearless’ that she directed for the Maharashtra State Police also won an honour from Govt. of India’s NIRDPR. She has also co-directed a feature length documentary on sky clad monks that found 300 screenings across the world. She was the scriptwriter for the well-known film ‘Bombariya’ starring Radhika Apte.
She is currently making a feature length film ‘Chalti Rahe Zindagi’ based on the lockdown which is in post-production stage.
Disappointed with the Covid-19 induced isolation, she poured her heart into art. In fact, it is only at 41 that she realised that she could sketch! What began as a hobby has now turned into an alternate career for Aarti. She started off with making sketches for friends and family but gradually the word was out and these days orders are coming in from social media. Her sketches are a huge hit and her home is now filled with cartons for deliveries.
