Once upon a time,
There was a kingdom
Of flowers, where
Rose, jasmine, lotus,
Dandelion, geranium,
Marigold, sunflowers,
Parijat, and many more
Blossoms bloomed.
Then one day,
A gardener tried
To separate the flowers,
On the basis of
Their structure, fragrance
And colour.
At the edge of the kingdom,
There was a wise old peepul tree.
A great poet he was,
And had a built a school,
On its branches, for
Bees, butterflies, birds and blooms.
The flustered flowers,
Sought his help.
And the wise poet said –
“It’s only in your diversity,
That each of you thrive,
And together survive.”
“Strengthen your roots,
And bind them with
Others who are near.
Create your web of protection,
Strengthen your bonds of solidarity,
And no matter what,
Don’t give up!
Don’t give up!
Don’t give up!
On your unity!”
The flowers determined to win.
And wherever the gardener,
Tried to separate their roots,
They bonded together,
With greater force and power,
Finally, the gardener gave up,
The blooms survived,
And the kingdom of flowers thrived.
To commemorate that day,
The flowers till date,
Interlink their branches
And roots.
And promise to be
By each other,
Through all the dangers
That they encounter.
